Appikonda About 18km from Visakhapatnam, the place has given a religious significance because of the existence of a Siva temple. History speaks that it is at this village that Kapila Maha Muni has installed the idol of Somalingeswara Swamy and thus the name - Kapilakonda which was over the ages changed to Apillakonda and further to Appikonda.

There was a life-size bull at the temple that was carved out of Black Stone A small fishing centre till a few years back, the metamorphosis of Vizag into a tourism and industrial hub has surprised and pleased tourists. Situated 18 kilometers from Visakhapatnam, Appikonda has a popular Shiva temple.
