Sri Govindarajaswami Temple The Lord Sri Govindarajaswami is the senior big brother of the Lord Balaji. It is merely very simple to visit this temple as it is situated in the central part of the Tirumala. The temple is the main landmark of Tirupati town for it's an imposing Gopuram that can be seen from a distance.
The temple is located just 1 kilometer away from the Tirumala railway junction and 2 kilometers away from Tirumala Bus Stand. This temple has two shrines surrounded by an outer wall. This far-famed temple was build by the Saint Ramanujacharya during the 1130 AD. The annual Brahmotsavam at this temple is celebrated in the month of Vaisakha every year. The festivals and other functions in the shrine are similar to those conducted in the Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala. Sarva Darshan timings 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., 1.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. It has an imposing gopuram which can be seen from a distance.
