Thalakona

Thalakona is one of the big forest of Andrapradesh. It is situated yarravaripalam near bhakarapeta, in tirupati-madanapalli road. This 45kms away from Tirupati amidst verdant hills if Nallamalai range. The 60 meter perennial waterfalls is said to contain minerals that have curative properties. Tirupati has many tourist attractions apart from the temple of Lord Venkateswara.

Thalakona is a forest located 30-km from Tirupati. Deep in these forests is a 6m perennial waterfall known as "Talakona". It is an enchanting picnic spot of great scenic beauty. It is believed that this place is the threshold to the seven hills of Tirumala. The Talakona waterfalls are about 45 minutes walk from the guest house. It would from up the hill to would be breathtaking.

There are number of trek routes available in the forest but it is advisable to take the help of trained guides who are picked up from local forest protection communities maintained by the forest department. The spot nis picturesque with panoramic view of the jungle spread over miles and miles. Visitors stay here and trek downwards to reach a stream.

The tourism attractions near by include , Brahmadevunigundam waterfall, Kaliviletikona Golladevuni gundam and Tumburu teertham, all situated in beautiful locales in Seshachalam hill ranges.
